First Response Emergency Care
The First Response Emergency Care framework has been introduced to allow progression whilst gaining recognised qualifications. At each level students will be required to complete workbooks, practical assessments and written assessments. Students will also be required to complete clinical learning hours building up to a portfolio of 750 hours. In many ways this mirrors the IHCD framework, the courses are not designed to be run back to back and this is not a quick solution for those chomping at the bit to climb the ranks. Also, you cannot skip steps of the framework which offers clear and systematic progression.
Upon completion of FREC Level 4 you can progress through the framework to FREUC 5, this course focusses on broadening your depth of knowledge of prehospital care
Having gained for FREUC Level 5, you can apply to the Level 6 Diploma in Paramedic Practice, upon completion you’ll be eligible to apply to the HCPC as a paramedic.
The QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) qualification is specifically designed for those who want to provide prehospital care to patients requiring emergency treatment.
It is ideal for those who are looking to progress their career in the emergency services, ambulance services, event medical sectors and high risk workplaces.
The perfect next step for those who have completed the QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) or equivalent.
Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training.
Learners must have successfully completed the QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) qualification or a QA recognised equivalent before they can begin the QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) qualification.
