Upon successful completion of of the FREC Level 3 Course your qualification will  be valid for 3 years. In order to renew your qualification you will need to complete a FREC 3 Requalification course within 3 years.

Our First Response Emergency Care (FREC Level 3) course is designed for anyone acting as a first responder to a range of emergency settings. This clinically endorsed qualification is widely recognised across many industries including, NHS Ambulance trusts, Police Forces and the Offshore/Maritime Sector.

Course Overview

This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care- The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.

The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) is one of the few first aid qualifications recognised by the Security Industry Authority (SIA).

Successful Learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competences needed to deal with a wide range of prehospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more.

The content for this course is comprehensive and covers the following:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Emergency oxygen administration
  • Bag Valve Mask (BVM) and pocket mask
  • Trauma and catastrophic bleeding
  • Head and spinal injuries
  • Shock and circulation
  • Common Medical Emergencies
  • Burns and scalds
  • Airway management
  • Environmental exposure

No previous experience in necessary to attend the FREC 3 course

FREC 3 Courses are run regularly at our Academy in the Wirral. We can also deliver this course at your premises anywhere in the UK for groups of 3 or more students.

Did You Know…

The Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC) covers all learning outcomes and assessment criteria contained within the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification. Therefore FREC 3 exceeds the Health and Safety Executive’s standard requirements for those acting as a workplace first aider, in addition FREC 3 also covers a number of additional training needs that are often identified in ‘higher risk’ working environments.
